ChowNow is the ordering partner built by and for food people to help independent restaurants thrive. Unlike other apps, ChowNow brings its customers a refreshingly honest approach to ordering through fair prices and transparent practices. Their unique two-way products offer restaurants a range of capabilities to grow their guestlist and better serve their customers, while giving diners the most responsible way to support restaurants outside the dining room. 


ChowNow wanted to build an identity to support their unique vision of fairness and transparency. We developed a visual identity that’s authentic at its core, a clear and direct design system that celebrates real food people and their experiences.

 
 

Indie design for indie kitchens

Local, independent restaurants shape the fabric and texture of any neighborhood. Keeping the charm, quirk and personality of each restaurant client alive was important. Pictograms and stickers, glyphs and messaging all strive to reflect the spark, ingenuity and wit you’ll find in any working kitchen. In addition, the ingredients within the system can be adapted, evolved and remixed per client, cuisine or category.

Tools for a B2B2C brand

ChowNow is built on empathy, by people who understand what it takes to run a local restaurant. The product suite is designed so restaurants can plug into easy-to-use marketing and fulfillment tools that connect them to more customers and streamline internal operations. For us that meant making sure that strategy, messaging and design tools were clear, intuitive, and easily applied to either audience. Across the board, the identity highlights transparency and a spirit of solidarity.
